US personal computer maker Dell has said it plans to shed around 125 jobs in Ireland as part of its worldwide cost-cutting plan.
Around 125 staff are expected to go in Bray and Cherrywood, Co Dublin. A further 150 jobs will be cutat Dell's European headquarters near London.
In May, Dell let go 200 administrative staff from its Limerick plant as part of a cost cutting programme which is aimed at shedding 3,000-4,000 jobs worldwide.
Dell is the largest US multinational employer in the State with approximately 5,700 Irish staff.
"This decision supports Dell's global focus on aggressive management of operating expenses," the company said in a statement today.
Dell said the jobs, all in non-sales administrative, support and management positions, would be shed in a "voluntary separation programme".
In January, Dell added itself to a lengthening list of tech firms warning of reduced profits due to the slowing global economy.
