Dempsey's litter ditty

From the sublime to the ridiculous

From the sublime to the ridiculous. The Minister for the Environment, Noel Dempsey, opened the Wexford Opera Festival on Thursday of last week. It is reported he much enjoyed the rather obscure Alessandro Stradella by Flotow. Next Tuesday he launches the Carlow County Council anti-litter song at Leighlinbridge. It goes something like this: Don't throw your litter on the ground/Fifty, fifty, fifty pound/If you throw your litter on the ground.

The ditty has been written, sung and produced by Richie Kavanagh who is known for his "Aon focal, do focal, tri focal eile."
