RACING:Paul Nicholls has confirmed Denman on course for a tilt at the Punchestown Guinness Gold Cup on Wednesday.
The 2008 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero ran a fine race to finish second to Imperial Commander in last month's blue riband event, and the champion trainer has been delighted with his subsequent work.
The 10-year-old was ruled out of this weekend's Coral Scottish Grand National due to the quicker ground, but will bid to sign off the season at next week's Irish Festival under Tony McCoy.
"Denman is absolutely fine. He schooled on Thursday and worked again this morning and is ready to go," said Nicholls.
"I'm very happy with him at the moment and all being well he'll head over on Sunday with Twist Magic, who goes for the Champion Chase (on Tuesday).
"The plan is for Tony to ride Denman again."
