Armagh 0-10 Cork 1-07: Cork left the Morgan Athletic Grounds with a point from their meeting with Armagh, despite playing more than half of their opening Division One game of the season with 14 men.

Paul Kerrigan was dismissed shortly before the break after a scuffle but the Rebels went in at the break five points up after Armagh offered little.

Their advantage owed a lot to a blunder from Armagh's John Kingham, who allowed Kerrigan’s free slip through his grasp for a goal after just 21 minutes.

Armagh had yet to score at that stage and only managed one in the first half through a Paul Carville free.

But the numerical advantage made life easier after the break and the comeback began with Stefan Forker and Eugene McVerry landed three points in a row to close the gap top two.

Malachy Mackin hit Armagh’s sixth without reply to level the scores before Cork got their first of the half, when Seán Kiely notched a score and Mark Collins and Donncha O’Connor followed suit for a lead with seven minutes left.

Armagh dug in, however, and the scores were eventually levelled by Brian Mallon before Anto Duffy missed a free to win it.
