Police are investigating the attempted abductions of two young girls in Derry City yesterday.
The same man was believed to have been behind targeting the girls, aged 11 and 13 just minutes apart in Derry yestrday.
Police said the 13-year-old was walking in the Fountain area at 8.10pm when a blue VW Golf pulled alongside her and the driver asked her if she wanted to "go for a spin".
The girl refused and the driver got out if the vehicle, blocked her path and asked the question again, but the girl managed to run off.
The man got back into his car and drove off, police believe, driving the wrong way down a one-way street.
At around 8.20pm in the same area the 11-year-old girl was approached by the driver of a dark car and asked if she was "coming for a spin". The girl ran off and the car sped away - again thought to have driven the wrong way down a one-way street.
The driver was said to be in his late 20s or early 30s with dark hair and stubble on his face.
Police appealed for anyone who noticed either incident or spotted anything suspicious to contact them without delay.
