The RUC has described a petrol bomb attack on a Catholic home in Derry as blatantly sectarian. The attack on the house at Heron Way in the Clooney Estate happened on Saturday. Three children, aged two, 12 and 16, were asleep when the bomb was thrown through their bedroom window. The house-owner managed to put out the fire.

Meanwhile, a primary school outside Ballymena was badly damaged in an arson attack yesterday morning. The fire, detected at about 4 a.m., caused extensive damage to Gracehill primary school.
