Gardai investigating the rape and sexual assault of two young girls in Clondalkin recently have issued a more accurate description of the attacker. He is said to be in his late teens or early 20s, 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall with dark, wavy hair and spots on his face. The first attack took place on a 10-year-old girl walking alone near her home on January 12th. A man put a knife to her throat and sexually assaulted her in a field at about 4.30 p.m.
The second, on a 12-year-old girl, took place less than half a mile away at Lealand Drive on March 16th between 8.30 a.m. and 8.45 a.m. The girl was on her way to school when grabbed from behind by a man with a knife who dragged her into a laneway where she was raped.
