Raven's Pass was the first horse out of the European barn for morning track work at Santa Anita today and looked completely relaxed in his work under Frankie Dettori.

The ever-popular Dettori regards the Breeders' Cup as a special event, and a win in the Classic is one he would dearly like on his glittering CV.

He will ride the John Gosden-trained colt for the first time in the €8million contest, a race in which he finished a desperately close second aboard Sakhee at Belmont in 2001.

He said: "It is 21 years since my first ride at a Breeders' Cup and I'm looking forward to my rides this time, especially Raven's Pass, although most of my best horses had injuries and have not been able to get here.
