The backers of a proposed new terminal building beside Dublin Airport have failed in a High Court application for an order directing Aer Rianta and the Minister for Public Enterprise to produce confidential reports on future requirements and expansion of the airport.

Huntstown Air Park Ltd has already initiated judicial review proceedings challenging an oral hearing by Bord Pleanala regarding the development. The hearing follows the refusal of Fingal County Council to grant outline planning permission.

Huntstown had sought various documents in preparation for the judicial review proceedings, for which no date has yet been set. Yesterday Mr Justice O'Higgins said he was satisfied it was not necessary to discover any of the documents mentioned in order to try the case fairly.
