Ireland has established official diplomatic links with Vietnam. A spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs said that the Irish Ambassador to Malaysia, Mr Breadan Lyons, has been assigned to act as Ambassador to Vietnam.
Mr Lyons will fulfil his role as a non resident Ambassador from the Irish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
