There is reported disquiet within the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) over the contents of a bonus package on offer to its chief executive, Fran Rooney.

Senior officials within the organisation are reportedly split over whether or not to grant the package to Rooney, who has been working without a contract since last April.

He was initally offered Eur250,000 per annum by the organisation, but he is reported to have increased his wage demands since then.

Supporters of Rooney have suggested that the new offer being sought relates to the chief executive's implementation of the Genesis Report, and that certain elements within the FAI are fearful of a power shift should full implementation of the recommendations contained within the report occur.
