Severe disruptions have been reported for train services coming in and out of Heuston station this afternoon.
The disruptions are due to an incident in Portarlington. Emergency services are at the scene, but it is anticipated that it will be some time yet before the line reopened.
Newbridge Commuter services are being extended to Kildare and Waterford services are operating but may be subject to a delay
Iarnród Éireann said it is endeavouring to arrange bus transfers for customers currently enroute. However, there are currently no services departing Heuston for Limerick, Cork, Killarney, Westport or Galway
The company apologised for any inconvenience caused to its customers.
