The Teachers' Union of Ireland has issued notice to the Dublin Institute of Technology for a one-day strike tomorrow.
The action will close the Aungier Street campus, aff-ecting students in the faculties of art and business.
According to the TUI, the strike concerns the failure of the DIT to appoint a TUI member to a permanent post. The lecturer, who works in the faculty of arts, has been working in the DIT since 1979 in a part-time capacity. He was recently interviewed for a permanent position and not appointed - even though he was the only candidate for the post.
