DJs spin new mix to catch Dublin listeners

Dublin’s youths can tune into a new sound today as the city’s latest commercial radio station, SPIN 103

Dublin’s youths can tune into a new sound today as the city’s latest commercial radio station, SPIN 103.8 FM, takes to the air with a mix of post-millennium tracks.

Aimed at the ever-illusive youth market (15-34 year-olds), the station has promised no pre-2000 music, rather a constant flow of dance, garage, and underground mixes provided by emerging talent on the Dublin DJ circuit.

Hoping to capture the audience tuned into pirate radio, the list of DJs recruited for SPIN’s crew includes Johnny Moy, Barry Redsetta, Steve K (formerly of 104FM), Emma Ledden (MTV) and Marty Miller (Today FM).

With chief executive Naomi Maguire (33) at the helm, the station will run 24 hours a day with the required amount of news, specialty shows and acts. News updates will be supplied by Gerry O’Connor from INN and Patricia Laverty.
