Cricket:Somerset's George Dockerill will play his first game in Irish colours since dislocating his shoulder during the World Cup when the Under-19 side take on the MCC at Carrickfergus tomorrow.

Dockerill dislocated his shoulder during Irelands’ World Cup victory over the Netherlands in March.

Tomorrow’s game will be used as preparation for the forthcoming Under-19 World Cup qualifiers in Dublin and Derry from July 28th to August 9th.

Manager Brian Walsh said: “We are taking a squad of 14 players and will play 12 with, as usual in this match and with the MCC’s co-operation, have two of our players play for MCC. This will allow us to give as many boys as possible a chance to play.

“George Dockrell will be home to captain the team and we see it as very important in our preparation for the World Cup Qualifiers. The fact that a number of the boys are sitting exams and unavailable presents an opportunity for others to make their mark.”
