More stringent checks are to be carried out on medical credentials after it emerged that a junior doctor employed at a hospital in Northern Ireland had apparently worked under falsified documents.
Sperrin Lakeland Trust confirmed this week that a junior doctor who worked in the accident and emergency unit at Tyrone County Hospital in Omagh had since been sacked by a Liverpool health trust. The man, who has not been named, was employed at Tyrone County Hospital for six months from August 1997.
