A homeopathic doctor appeared in court in London today charged with murdering a woman in Dublin last week.
Mr Christopher Newman (60) appeared before Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court in south London, accused of stabbing to death Ms Georgina Eager (29) in Walkinstown on or before May 22nd last.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on June 3rd.
Mr Newman, formerly of St Peter's Road, Walkinstown, and now of Catford, south-east London, denies the allegation. It is believed the case will be tried in London.
Mr Newman, also known by the name of Saph Dean, was arrested in a black taxi cab on Westminster Bridge on Thursday, just minutes before gardaí discovered Ms Eager's corpse.
Ms Eager, a doctor's secretary, was stabbed to death at her home in St Peter's Road, Walkinstown.
