Snooker:Former world champion Ken Doherty wasted little time marching past India's Aditya Mehta 5-0 in the qualifying round of the Shanghai Masters.
The Dubliner will face Tian Pengfei next, after the Chinese player brushed aside England’s Andrew Higginson.
Doherty was always in control - and after a 54 break settled the second frame, Mehta’s only significant resistance came a in a protracted safety exchange in a scrappy fourth.
Higginson took the opening frame against Pengfei but was never in the contest thereafter, going out 5-1.
