There are numerous English versions of this venerable classic, of which Smollett's 18th-century one (republished about a dozen years ago) is possibly the best, the most vivid and the raciest. Burton Raffel's is adequate rather than inspired - probably preferable to most of its predecessors in terms of accuracy, but verbally undistinguished. Since this is a Norton Critical Edition, seemingly aimed mainly at students, there are numerous footnotes and at the end a series of critical essays, including one by Borges (Unamuno's should have been among them).
