Kieran Donaghy is in danger of missing the start of the Munster championship after sustaining a knee injury during a club game over the weekend.
The full-forward was sidelined while in action for his club Austin Stacks and has undergone a scan to determine the extent of the problem.
Kerry face Clare on June 15th and while Donaghy's absence would be a blow for manager Pat O'Shea, he will have seen little to concern him unduly in the Banner's win over Tipperary yesterday.
Despite winning by four points, Clare's performance certainly suggests they lack the strength in depth to run the Kingdom close, Donaghy or no Donaghy.
Meanwhile, Owen Mulligan is unlikely to feature in Tyrone's Ulster first round clash with Down as he struggles to overcome a hamstring injury.
Mulligan, who escaped an intercounty ban after being shown a red card in a recent club game, picked up the problem in March and has been unable to shake it off in the interim.
