Gardaí have confirmed that the body found in the sea off the south-west coast of Co Donegal is that of the German tourist who went missing nine days ago.

Constanze Czerwinske (22), from Potsdam, left Dooey Hostel in Glencolumbkille for a walk nine days ago but never returned.

Her body was recovered at Glen Head in Glencolumbkille last night.

The Garda's water unit, dog unit and air support unit were involved in the land and sea search for Ms Czerwinske, along with mountain and coast rescue volunteers and local people.
