Donegal has suffered another jobs setback today with the news that shirtmaker Clubman Omega is to shut its factory in Buncrana with the loss of 67 jobs.
The company has blamed the "unacceptably high costs of production in this country" and said its products "are now totally uncompetitive in both national and international markets". Production is being switched to Lithuania.
Fine Gael Senator Joe McHugh, said at least 627 jobs have been lost in Donegal so far this month as a result of rising costs that have turned Ireland into one of the most uncompetitive economies in Europe.
