Tyrone boss Mickey Harte faces an anxious wait to see if the Red Hands' talisman Brian Dooher will be fit to face Meath in the All-Ireland SFC quarter-final in Croke Park this Saturday.
Dooher is struggling to overcome a hernia injury which forced him off a county practice match after just 15 minutes last weekend. To this end the county medical staff are none the wiser as to how to deal with the problem, casting a serious doubt over the Clann na nGael club man's participation at the weekend.
The injury problems don't appear to stop there for Harte either as he is also waiting on news of Dooher's club mate Stephen O'Neill who has ongoing knee and hamstring problems. He is unlikely to start against Meath.
What remains certain is the absence of Michael McGee who is
still recovering from a shoulder operation and long-term absentee
Brian McGuigan.
On a brighter note Gerard Cavlan, who O'Neill replaced in the
Ulster final due to hamstring problems, is back to full fitness as
is Owen Mulligan and Cormac McGinley.
Tyrone will name their team tomorrow after training.
In the Meath camp Colin Coyle is working out how to shore-up a depleted defensive line as Eoin Harrington and Seamus Kenny are both sidelined with shoulder problems.
To compound matters Padraig Howard broke his thumb while playing for his club Duleek and Kevin Reilly continues to struggle with a knee injury.
The upshot; Stephen MacGabhann, Niall McLoughlin and Chris O'Connor are now prime candidates to make the starting line-up. Controversial front man Graham Geraghty is also likely to be named in the starting XV.
