The Irish oil and gas exploration firm Dragon Oil this morning announced a number of board room changes with director Mr Essa Almulla appointed as chief executive officer.

Outgoing Mr Hussain M. Sultan is going to take up the position of chairman.

The reshuffle comes after the company confirmed a narrow rise in profits to $15.3 million for the six month period to June 30th, 2004.

Dragon Oil had a turnover of $34.8 million, which was lower than the same period a year earlier and earnings per share dipped to 3.78 cents per share.
