MEMBERS of Dublin Corporation's Drainage Department have turned an investment of £7 a week over 3 1/2 years into a Lotto win of £484,875. Each gets £69,267.86.
Six of them collected their cheques yesterday at the National Lottery's headquarters in Dublin.
The seventh, Mr Liam Burke, has left the corporation and now works in a Boston bar. But he kept up his membership of the syndicate. The mid week Lotto jackpot was worth £1.45 million.
The Dublin Corporation syndicate call themselves the River Gang. Last Saturday, they won £27 after matching four numbers.
Mr John Cassidy plans to take a holiday. Mr Paddy O'Reilly is buying a new car. Mr John Long is also going to buy a new car as well as have a holiday.
Mr Paul Pujolas is buying a new car while Mr Eugene Molyneaux is putting the money "into house refurbishment". Mr Roy O'Donnell is taking a holiday.
Much more privately, a Crumlin woman collected a cheque for £484,875 from the lottery yesterday. "She wants to remain anonymous", said a lottery spokeswoman. She bought her ticket in a Crumlin newsagency which had a Lotto jackpot win three years ago.
