Ministers from Dublin and Belfast have launched a graphic campaign to shock motorists out of drinking and driving before Christmas.
The first of the "SHAME" campaign's 60-second advertisements appeared last night on television.
In the last five years, 800 people have been killed in drink-related road incidents on both sides of the Border.
At the launch of the campaign in Belfast, the chairman of the National Safety Council, Mr Eddie Shaw, said 57 people were killed on the roads during Christmastime last year.
