Irish film lovers will get the chance to experience the old school charm of drive-in movies when they come to Dublin today.

Over 1,500 motorists are expected to drive free of charge into a selection of classics at the Phoenix Park when the weekend showings get under way.

The line up has something for everyone kicking off with The Snapper at 4.30pm and followed by Stanley Kubrick's chilling The Shining at 9pm.

There's a family focus tomorrow with the all-singing, all-dancing Grease at 4.30pm and the terrifying Jaws showing at 9pm.

The four showings, hosted by the Office of Public Works, will take place in Farmleigh.

All motorists have to do is tune into the sound on FM radio.
