A Dublin man serving seven years for the manslaughter of a man he shot in 2008, received a one year sentence yesterday for motoring offences.

Conor Duffy (18) of St Mary’s Road, East Wall, had been found guilty at the Children’s Court in February of driving without a licence or insurance in Howth, Co Dublin, on March 13th, 2010.

He had previously been banned from driving for five years.

He was also on bail at the time pending his Central Criminal Court trial last March when he was found guilty of the manslaughter of Aidan O’Kane (50) at Shelmalier Road, East Wall in December 2008.

Mr O’Kane’s house had been attacked with eggs and he emerged to go after youths. He was killed by a shot fired by Duffy. Yesterday at the Children’s Court, the youth received 12 months for the driving offences.
