Some 2,500 people have signed a petition, launched in Keady on Monday, protesting over the DPP's dropping of manslaughter charge against three local men. Mr Paul Oliver McGleenan, of Crossmore Green, was found dead below a bridge on January 2nd, 1996. Matthew Gerard Rice (39), of Granemore Road; Francis Charles Houlahan (25), of High Street, and John Gerard Lapin (25) of Rock Road, were charged with manslaughter. When they appeared in Armagh Crown Court last week, they pleaded not guilty. Later they were rearraigned and admitted fighting and causing an affray. They are to be sentenced later in the month.
