A drug addict who threw a bag of heroin over his balcony when he spotted gardai approaching has been jailed for seven years by Judge Frank O'Donnell. Alan Tunstead (28), a father of three from St Michael's Estate, Inchicore, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin worth £5,400 for sale and supply on August 24th, 1998. He admitted possession of £1,700 of cannabis on October 18th, 1986 for sale and supply. Tunstead had 11 previous convictions.
Sgt Ashley O'Sullivan said a co-accused, Joseph Keogh, also of St Michael's Estate, was jailed for six years in March 1998 for his role in the offence.
