A Co Down tractor dealer was fined £100 at a special sitting of Craigavon Magistrates' Court yesterday when he admitted riotous behaviour at Drumcree on July 10th, 1995. He was George Milliken (27), of Lynn Crescent, Dromore.

A lawyer for the DPP told the court that the charge arose from events which occurred at Drumcree on July 9th, 10th and 11th, 1995. He said that Milliken had been identified on videotape and had been interviewed by police last November, when he denied involvement.

Mr Richard Monteith, defending solicitor, said that the matter arose when some of the political representatives attempted to go through the peace lines and were then permitted to do so. Mr Monteith said that there was some jostling and Milliken had been seen to throw a large stone towards police Land Rovers. There was a record of previous convictions, but not for offences like the present one, the solicitor added.
