Dublin 2-16 Antrim 0-12:Antrim were given a less than hospitable welcome to the Leinster championship by Dublin at Croke Park this afternoon, as the locals romped to a 10-point win over the northerners.
Anthony Daly's side will meet Wexford next after the draw was made this evening, but the manager will be hoping for a vast improvement after his side, though convincing winners, shot as many wides as scores.
David O’Callaghan got the Dubs off to a flier when he hit the net early on but goalkeeper Gary Maguire played his part with a penalty save from Antrim’s Neil McManus.
To Antrim’s credit they never gave up and even when staring at a seven point deficit, they rallied to close the gap with three points from Karl Stewart and scores from Sean Delargy, CJ McGourty and Michael Herron.
That meant there was only a point in at the break and when Herron pointed early in the second half it was level pegging.
Dublin stretched their legs after that, however.
Alan McCrabbe certainly played his part when he hit five frees and found the net with less than five minutes remaining to put a gloss on an unsure performance.
