A POST-LEAVING Certificate results event for thousands of students at Donnybrook Stadium has been moved at short notice to three smaller venues.

The Summer Blowout 2010 was due to see performances from acts including Razorlight and Alexandra Burke at the 6,000-capacity Dublin venue tomorrow.

A spokeswoman for promoters Premium Nights said the decision to change the venue was made by the stadium managers because of potential damage to the pitch ahead of the Leinster v London Wasps rugby match on Friday. But a spokesman for Leinster Rugby said it had not made the decision. He said they would not have taken a booking for a concert at the stadium if there was going to be a logistical problem.

Premium Nights said poor ticket sales was not the reason for the change of venue. The tickets for the festival, which cost almost €50, will be refunded through Ticketmaster. Tickets for the three new events will be sold at prices of between €15 and €20.
