ONE of the largest branches of the Irish National Teachers' Organisation has voted overwhelmingly to reject the £70 billion package under the Programme for Competitiveness and Work. At a meeting last night members of the Dublin city north branch of the INTO noted by 435 to 132 against the package.
However the overall INTO ballot is still expected to result in acceptance of the PCW terms, according to an INTO spokeswoman last night. She said that so far about half of the 150 branches have been balloted and the majority have voted for the package. The final result will be announced next week.
