A man appeared at Dublin District Court this morning charged with the murder of his father in Artane yesterday.
Mr Anthony McAuliffe (41) from Raheny in Dublin was remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court this Thursday. He will also undergo a psychiatric assessment following an application from his solicitor.
He was arrested yesterday and detained overnight at Raheny Garda Station.
The body of Mr John McAuliffe (71) was found at the Rosevale old folks flats complex on Brookwood Avenue, Artane, yesterday morning. He had been stabbed a number of times in the stomach.
