Dublin's senior hurlers proved no match for a rampant Kilkenny side in their Leinster SHC semi-final clash at Nowlan Park this evening, with the Cats coming out top on by 3-16 to 0-10.
Despite a good start from the Dubs, who went into a two point lead, Kilkenny soon got into the game and, despite Dublin's good first half showing, they remained firmly in control.
Meanwhile, Waterford progressed to the Munster SHC final following a 1-12 to 0-13 win over Limerick at Semple Stadium in Thurles.
A poor game, punctuated by persistent fouling on the part of both teams, was lifted by a fine individual performance from Waterford's Paul Flynn, who clocked a tally of 1-7, including the crucial winning goal, to help Waterford to victory.
Earlier, in the second round of the SHC qualifiers Kerry overcame Carlow by 3-15 to 3-07 in the first game today at Semple Stadium - enough to put them through to the preliminary final.
