The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre has unveiled its new website as part of its programme of events to mark its 25th year in operation.

The re-designed and updated website, www.drcc.iewas formally launched by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Catherine Byrne, this morning.

DRRC chairwoman Breda Allen said the service started in 1980 with a single telephone line staffed by volunteers.

"Today the DRCC offers a 24-hour telephone helpline, 365 days a year and various counselling and therapy services to individuals who have experienced rape and sexual abuse," she said.
