Allianz Football League round-up:Dublin moved clear at the top of the Division One with a narrow one-point win over Monaghan this afternoon. The result maintains Dublin's 100 per cent record in the Division and affords them a two-point cushion over Cork.

Having raced into an early 0-6 to 0-0 lead in Clones, Pat Gilroy’s side allowed Monaghan back into the contest. A couple of Paul Finlay frees steadied the ship and when Conor McManus knocked the ball over the advancing Stephen Cluxton all of a sudden the momentum was with the Farney men.

Trailing 1-5 to 0-6 at the interval, the pendulum swung back in Dublin’s favour early in the second half with another glut of unanswered scores. The Brogan brothers, Bernard and Alan, were both on the scoresheet and the visitors even survived the dismissal of Diarmuid Connolly to hang on for a 0-13 to 1-9 win.

In Tralee, Kerry kept their faint title aspirations alive and heaped further misery on rock-bottom Galway in the process. Colm Cooper gave another point taking master-class as the Kingdom triumphed by double scores.

Cooper helped himself to half of his side’s total, with five of his scores coming from play, while Bryan Sheehan, Donncha Walsh and Kieran Donaghy also chipped in with scores of their own.

Elsewhere, scores at the death from Johnny Murtagh and Ciaran McKeever helped Armagh see off Mayo in Castlebar. Stephen McDonnell, with six points, was the catalyst for a result which should help Armagh retain their top flight status.
