A son of Mr John Gilligan will be tried in the Dublin Circuit Court on charges of burglary, driving a stolen car and criminal damage.

Mr Darren Gilligan (22) of Western Green, Lucan, was accompanied in Dublin District Court yesterday by his mother Geraldine. He is accused of stealing cash and cigarettes worth £1,800 in Tubbercurry, Co Sligo, on January 18th and of driving a stolen car, causing criminal damage to the vehicle and another car in Blanchardstown that day.

Mr Gilligan, who is on independent bail of £1,500, was remanded to July 30th for service of a book of evidence.
