A Dublin man will tonight begin his attempt to become the first person to swim across the Irish Sea.
Feilim O'Maoláin will start his swim, which is being undertaken to raise money for the homeless, at Holyhead this evening.
He hopes to reach Dublin, a massive 56 miles away, by Tuesday afternoon.
Mr O'Maoláin is hoping to raise thousands of euro for the Capuchin Day Centre, which provides food for the many homeless in Dublin's inner city.
He planned to attempt the record-breaking swim last year but had to abandon due to poor weather.
He is an experienced long distance swimmer who cross the English Channel in 24 hours in 1998 and last weekend completed two separate ten-mile swims.
He will be accompanied by a 30-foot boat in case he gets into difficulty. He will be swimming without a wetsuit or fins.
