GAA:James McCarthy will miss Dublin's Allianz Football League Division One game against Laois tomorrow evening after the Central Hearings Committee upheld the recommended one-match ban proposed.
McCarthy was charged by the Central Competitions Controls Committee (CCCC) with “behaving in any way which is dangerous to an opponent” during Dublin’s abandoned league game against Mayo at McHale Park on February 11th.
He contested the charge but the CHC found the “infraction alleged is more likely to have occurred than not to have occurred”.
It leaves Dubs manager Pat Gilroy with a hole to fill at right wing-back after McCarthy was named in the team this morning.
Goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton makes way for St Vincent’s netminder Michael Savage, who featured twice in the league last year – in a win over Mayo and a draw with Galway.
Ger Brennan will captain the side in the absence of Bryan Cullen.
