Duff available for Rovers return

Soccer: Fulham winger Damien Duff should be available for tomorrow’s clash with Blackburn

Soccer:Fulham winger Damien Duff should be available for tomorrow's clash with Blackburn. The news will be welcomed by Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni, who names his Euro 2012 squad on Monday.

Duff missed the wins over Armenia and Andorra with a calf injury but has been training with the club this week and is available to face his former club at Ewood Park.

If Duff plays, he won’t come up against his international teammate Keith Andrews who remains sidelined with the groin strain that has severely limited his opportunities this season.

Andrews has yet to make a Premier League appearance for Rovers this term and is at least another week away from making his comeback.

Elsewhere, after a promising debut for Stoke on Monday, Marc Wilson can expect to start for the Potters against West Ham tomorrow. Wilson was overlooked by Trapattoni for the opening two qualifiers but could force his way into the reckoning for next month’s double-header with Russia and Slovakia.

The FAI, meanwhile, has submitted a request to the Slovakian FA for more tickets after the 1,092 they have already been allocated were snapped up by Irish fans. The match, on October 12th, had originally been due to take place in Bratislava but was switched to Zilina late last month.

The FAI, along with their Slovakian counterparts, is hoping to arrange transport for fans who must now make the 200km journey to the new venue.
