Republic of Ireland winger Damien Duff has passed a late fitness test and takes his place in the Chelsea line-up to face Barcelona in the Champions League tonight.

Manager Jose Mourinho had ruled the Dubliner out just 24 hours earlier with the knee injury he suffered against Newcastle in the FA Cup fifth-round defeat on Sunday.

Duff starts along with William Gallas, who has recovered from the groin strain he sustained against Newcastle, while Didier Drogba also plays after overcoming a thigh problem that has sidelined him for the last month.

Barcelona have selected the side Mourinho predicted in yesterday's pre-match press conference, with Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o leading the attack and Deco providing the passes from midfield.

Fit-again Ruud van Nistelrooy is left on the bench as Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson gives Wayne Rooney a lone striking role against AC Milan at Old Trafford.

Ryan Giggs returns in place of Phil Neville - an offensive portion of a five-man midfield which also includes Quinton Fortune.

The visitors included a host of household names in their starting line-up - but not injured European Footballer of the Year Andriy Shevchenko. However, former Old Trafford favourite Jaap Stam is named in the defence.
