Leader of the British Conservative Party Mr Iain Duncan Smith today urged his party to "unite or die" after accusing a "small group of my parliamentary colleagues" of trying to undermine him.
Speaking at a news conference shortly after meeting with senior party advisers, Mr Duncan Smith made his comments in relation to a Tory rebellion in the House of Commons last night.
A number of Conservative MPs refused to obey the party whip and voted against the leadership's line on the right of unmarried and gay couples to adopt children.
Senior Tories Mr Michael Portillo and Mr Ken Clarke were among those who voted against the party leadership.

The latest row comes amid rumours of fresh challenges to Mr Duncan Smith's leadership.
