Golf:Dunmurry were crowned Barton Shield champions while Portumna secured the Junior Cup green pennant on the second day of the All-Ireland Cup and Shields finals at Castlebar Golf Club.
Ulster champions Dunmurry ran out five hole winners in the foursomes format event against Headfort. The top pairing of Darren Crowe and Patrick McGlone did the damage as they won their match by five holes against Joe Dillon and Greg Mungovan. Crowe’s brother, Stephen, alongside Glenn McAuley halved their match against Rory McNamara and Brian Casey.
In the Junior Cup final Portumna were 3-2 winners against Naas, while the Curragh and Nenagh advanced to the Pierce Purcell Shield final with their respective wins over Co Sligo and Lisburn.
