SDLP leader Mark Durkan is to chair the Assembly committee scrutinising the DUP's Nigel Dodds when he becomes Stormont Economy Minister next month.
The party confirmed today the Foyle MP, who served as the Deputy First Minister and Finance Minister in the last devolved government, will chair the Enterprise, Trade and Investment Committee.
Mr Durkan is the second former devolved minister to be appointed to chair an Assembly committee.
The DUP's Gregory Campbell is to lead the Social Development Committee examining the work of the SDLP's minister in the new executive Margaret Ritchie.
The SDLP also confirmed Mid Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone will head the Assembly's Environment Committee, the watchdog of the former Ulster Unionist and DUP minister Arlene Foster.
Newry and Armagh MLA Dominic Bradley will be the vice chair of the Education Committee chaired by the DUP's Sammy Wilson, which will hold Sinn Fein minister Caitriona Ruane to account.
