London - Earl Spencer and the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund are trying to prevent unscrupulous Internet entrepreneurs cashing in on Diana's name, it was revealed yesterday. The move comes as a mystery individual or company has put the domain name www.princess-of-wales.co.uk up for sale for at least £300,000.

A spokeswoman for Earl Spencer said that site was closed down last year after it was discovered it was selling tickets to Althorp - the family estate is dedicated to Diana's memory - which were more expensive than the official ones and never arrived. "We found out because people rang us to find out where their tickets were and we realised this site had downloaded pages from the official site at www.althorp.com and was hoodwinking people," she said.
