Europe's largest organic gardening charity has a novel approach to attracting new members. Its Adopt a Veg scheme gives people the chance to adopt one of 800 old and unusual varieties of vegetables in its Heritage Seed Library. Cost £12, or £25 with some seeds for you to grow.
