A man has been jailed for 4 1/2 years by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, for possessing 25 ecstasy tablets.
Det Sgt Sean Donovan said Gavan Hodnett (22), of Michael Collins Square, Midleton, Co Cork, was arrested by garden who had set up a surveillance operation in a laneway near his home. The tablets had been found in a container there and Hodnett came to collect them.
Hodnett pleaded guilty to possessing the drugs for supply on November 11th, 1994.
The court was told he was serving a sentence imposed by the District Court in January. Judge Moriarty backdated the drugs sentence to that date and suspended the final 18 months on condition that Hodnett stay out of trouble.
