Chef Ray Nolan from Garryhill, Bagnelstown, Co Carlow, a second-year student at the Waterford Institute of Technology is the winner of the Knorr Student Chef of the Year competition.
The finals of the contest were held in McKee Barracks, Dublin, last week, where second-year students from 13 Irish catering colleges demonstrated their culinary skills.
Nolan now goes on to compete for Ireland in the Scottish Culinary Grand Prix in March.
